Romania – A Family Changing The Nation

Romania – A Family Changing The Nation

With just days after returning from Sierra Leone I was on the road again with yet another amazing opportunity for friendship and to celebrate/share what was happening in Romania with Romania Without Orphans (aka A.R.F.O).

Sharing the warmth of the Ilie family home I heard the incredible stories of adoption, a church fired up to support families and a nation becoming more switched on to the beauty and necessity of fostering, adoption and family preservation. As you see in the video above I was reminded how this isn’t a journey for one person but where the ideal is a journey taking place in the safety of the community. ‘A Journey Together’.

I was amazed to see first hand the church rallying around an adopting family, in a matter of days renovating and extending an entire house. I also attended the Romanian Refresh camp for foster and adoptive families. I found it amazing what is taking place in this country and how they are working with and encouraging/inspiring neighbouring nations.

One of the incredible Romanian families who have adopted twice. This was the family in the video above who Alex and others helped extend and renovate their property.
